Several committees play an important role in informing the strategic direction and management of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS).
These committees consist of both academic and professional staff as well as postgraduate student representatives.

Clinical Education Strategic Committee
Purpose: To position SHRS as a leader in quality clinical education through education and training of clinical educators, and preparation of students for global professional practice. The committee is made up of representatives from each discipline within SHRS (a mix of academic and professional staff) who meet every six to eight weeks.

Research and Postgraduate Studies Committee
Purpose: Facilitates excellence in research by creating opportunities and providing support where required. The committee promotes the consolidation and expansion of research across all professions in the School at national and international levels. It does this through developing and monitoring research policy and procedures at a school level, keeping both staff and research higher degree students informed of change/innovations, encouraging applications for competitive research grants, promoting collaboration in research, reviewing performance indicators for research productivity, supporting and facilitating the educational experience of research higher degree students and working to increase postgraduate student enrolment. This group meets monthly.

Teaching and Learning Committee
Purpose: To ensure that the School follows ‘best practice’ in the teaching of academic and clinical courses and in the structure of the programs that it offers. The Committee facilitates new teaching and learning innovations, ensures that the School adheres to university policies, procedures and rules, implements initiatives to enhance the student learning experience, and oversees and promotes staff academic and clinical teaching awards. The Committee meets approximately every six weeks throughout the year. It includes representatives from all professions within the School – Heads of Discipline, Program Directors, the School Manager, library representative, an external consultant to SHRS, portfolio representatives, and a postgraduate and undergraduate student representative.

Health, Safety and Wellness Committee
Purpose: To provide a forum for staff to identify and resolve health and safety problems, and to develop and monitor safe systems and procedures in the School. The committee addresses staff views on health and safety matters, and reviews and implements health and safety recommendations from the Faculty and University. This group meets every three months.
