Researcher biography
Dr Iain Dutia is a research officer within the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences at The University of Queensland. He is also a postdoctoral research fellow at CP-Achieve, and NHMRC-funded Centre of Research Excellence at Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
Iain has a background in physiotherapy, with experience in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation. His clinical and research interests are in the physical and mental health benefits of competitive Para sport. He co-ordinates the ParaSTART program: a training and research program for people with moderate-severe cerebral palsy participating in Para sport. He is also a member of the World Para Swimming high support needs working group. Iain is a Para athletics medical classifier, and sits on classification advisory panels for both Athletics Australia and Paralympics Australia.
