Keeping you safe during COVID-19
We've undertaken an extensive planning process to facilitate our return to face to face research which is the result of consultation with our staff and Health, Safety and Wellness experts and aligned to broader government regulations. You can be confident that we've considered all necessary precautions in the context of the type of research we undertake within the School.
We've conducted a series of risk assessments which have been reviewed and approved in our UQ-wide risk assessment system.
Our researchers are committed to undertaking additional steps within the research process, such as additional cleaning regimes, allowing time for cleaning to take place and ensuring adequate preparation time prior to your session. Where our risk assessment has determined necessary, they have been supplied with additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hygiene supplies and cleaning products.
Our staff and students will be adhering to strict personal hygiene procedures. We'll ensure facilities are available for you to adhere to such procedures as necessary (such as hand-washing before and after your session).
In order to ensure physical distancing, all spaces and facilities have been assessed to determine the maximum number of people allowed in a space at a given time. We appreciate your cooperation in complying with these guidelines.
What you need to do
If you have a fever or respiratory symptoms, or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 (or awaiting a COVID-19 test result), we ask that you delay your participation until you are feeling well or have received the results of the test. It is a requirement that you undertake the Coronavirus (COVID-19 self-assessment) quiz and return the results to us via email prior to your session taking place.
We would appreciate if you could arrive on time for your appointment with us (no longer than 10 minutes prior) to minimise the amount of people in our hallways and waiting areas, ensuring physical distancing is able to be maintained. It would also assist us if you were able to attend your appointment alone, without additional members of your family or friends, though we understand in some cases this is not possible.
In the event of a positive COVID-19 case determined to have been in contact with you during your time on Campus, we may need to request further information from you for contact tracing purposes. This will be undertaken in collaboration with our Health, Safety and Wellness Division and Queensland Health.
