The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) at the University of Queensland (UQ) is hosting our annual Postgraduate Research Conference. 

The Conference will showcase recent research undertaken by Higher Degree by Research and Honours students in four allied health disciplines: Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech Pathology. 

This year, the theme of the conference is  ‘Sustainability for the future which aims to explore the adaptations seen in research, practice, teaching and industry to sustain and grow allied health. Our program has been developed using an interdisciplinary model under the SHRS key research themes:

  • Communication
  • Paediatrics: Healthy Start to Life
  • Musculoskeletal: Movement in Health
  • Neurorehabilitation and Ageing
  • Professional Education
  • Telerehabilitation

The 2020 SHRS Postgraduate Research Conference "Sustainability for the future" will be held online from 12-4pm on Friday 4 December.  

This year’s conference will feature:  

  • Pre-recorded oral presentations and scheduled online seminars with presenters to facilitate questions and discussion (12-2.30pm)
  • Online infographic displays and 30s Thesis Viewing/Voting 
  • A ‘live’ keynote-speaker and expert-panel session online (3-4pm)  
  • Meeting-and-greet drinks at a venue on-campus (4pm, Venue TBC) 

The conference this year will also feature the 30-sec Thesis Competition, which will challenge students to explain their research and why it matters in just 30-seconds!

There will be a number of prizes and awards for outstanding presentations!
