The Queensland Aphasia Research Centre (QARC) is a centre of The University of Queensland. Based at the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) in partnership with the Metro North Hospital and Health Service. QARC is dedicated to optimising the lives of people living with aphasia through research, service, and partnerships. It is the first centre of its kind in Australia.

Co-Design of aphasia services - Hear about the top 7 priorities for improving aphasia services in hospitals and healthcare settings as identified by clinicians, people with aphasia and family members in this research project.
CHAT and TeleCHAT programs – learn more about the evidence based 8-week comprehensive high dose aphasia therapy program that can be delivered in person or online and the research behind it.
CHAT Partnership project – a project that is trialling the implementation of the CHAT program in speech pathology services in hospitals and health services throughout Qld, NSW and Vic and comparing outcomes with usual care.
MEASuRES – hear about the series of projects aimed at driving quality improvement through meaningful evaluation of aphasia services.
Bridging the Digital Divide – a project aimed at making online information more accessible to people with aphasia.
AphasiaFit – Learn about a new app co-designed with clinicians, people with aphasia and family members to help people manage their therapy and track progress at home.
Neurobiological Predictors – a series of research projects aimed at predicting aphasia recovery based on neurobiological predictors after stroke, brain tumour and epilepsy.
Better Conversations About Care – a project to co-design a communication toolkit to support better conversations about aged care.
Aphasia Implementation Toolkit Project – Learn about how the Toolkit aims to provide implementation support to speech pathologists so they can provide best practice aphasia services.
