In Semester 2, 20 students from Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Audiology joined academic staff and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students for the Research Incubator Program Weekend at the Sunshine Coast.
The weekend gave first and second year students the chance to mingle with staff and HDR students, and to get a taste of what it’s like to be a HDR student in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Students listened to career talks from current academic staff, heard about a day in the life of a HDR student and received training in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. They then worked in teams with staff and HDR students to design and conduct a research project – reporting their findings to the group on the final day.
